Benevolence
We take seriously the Biblical commands to help the hurting, visit the suffering, and minister to the needy. The Griffin Road church is active in feeding local hungry families, as well as looking after the needs of our own members, with special attention to our own widows. We also support two children at the Christian Home and Bible School in Mt. Dora, Fl. If you have a heart for this kind of ministry, we have a place for you.

Building and Ground Maintenance
Our recent Growth has necessitated expansion. At the same time, we are trying to maximize our present facility and keep it in good repair. If you are a handy there are lots of needs in this area.

Communication
In any organization, communication must be of primary concern. In addition to communicating the Gospel to lost people, we believe good internal communication is vital.

We are always looking for people to help gather news, send correspondence, and use their expertise in designing advertising , and maintaining bulletin boards inside the building.

Education
This is one of our most important, and most comprehensive ministries, because it touches every member of the Griffin Road family. In addition to Sunday School and Wednesday night Bible classes, we conduct an annual Vacation Bible School, and have small group Bible studies in english and spanish. We are constantly looking at new educational needs and are always seeking individuals to be involved in teaching.

If you can teach or co-teach, or if you have artistic talent to help develop visual aids and crafts for classes, there is a place for you to be involved.

Evangelism and Outreach
Another essential ministry of the church involves seeking individuals who do not belong to Christ, and those Christians who are not active in a local congregation.

Specific needs in this area include those individuals who are willing to follow up on guests who visit our services, who can conduct personal Bible studies, or who are willing to participate in small group Bible studies.

Fellowship
Fellowship was an integral part of the life of the early church. While this term does not refer exclusively to sharing meals together, that is the most familiar illustration. The Griffin Road family enjoys monthly church dinners in our fellowship hall, in addition to various picnics and other outings that promote fellowship.

This ministry needs people to plan and organize fellowship events, and to help begin additional fellowship activities.

Finance
In addition to being good stewards of our physical plant, we want to be good stewards of the money entrusted to us. Our only source of financing comes from weekly contributions made by our members. We have talented members who manage this money responsibly. While we don't emphasize finances, it remains an important aspect of our overall ministry especially as we plan for the future.

Involvement
This ministry oversees our most precious resource our people. We believe that every member should be involved in local work, and we are making a conscious effort to help each person fit in to suitable ministries. Also, this is an area in which we are constantly looking to add or improve. If you observe needs that are not addressed by this listing, please bring them to the attention of our leadership.

Missions
One of our goals is to promote a better "missions awareness," within our congregation, that may one day include trips to visit and help missionaries in the field. We have members who participate in short-term mission trips outside the United States (Honduras, Peru).

If you have a heart for missions, or an interest in traveling to foreign countries to do the Lord's work, we need you in this area.

New Member Orientation
We gain new members through evangelism and transfers. When someone becomes a Christian, or when a Christian moves to the area and becomes a part of the Griffin Road family, we want to take very good care of them. A New Member program is presently being organized to provide additional teaching for new Christians, and integrate new members as well as possible.

We need help with maintaining our photo directory, getting necessary materials to our newest members, and teaching our new "Welcome To Griffin Road" course.

Worship
This is the most visible ministry of the church. It is also very labor intensive, and is usually, the first area in which new members become involved. As the Griffin Road church grows, more men will be needed to conduct services efficiently, and more women to help supervise children and prepare the weekly communion.

If you are willing to participate in a public way, we can use you.

Youth
Another extremely important ministry of the church is our Youth Ministry. We have been blessed with rapid growth in our youth group over the pas few years, and many young people have been brought to Christ as a result.

The program begins with Kids for Christ (KFC), which includes fun activities for children from Kindergarten through 3rd grade. The next level is the Tweeners, grades 4-6, who participate in age-appropriate fun, and are also exposed to more spiritual pursuits. Our Youth Minister (Brad Poyet) works extensively with our Teens (grades 6-12), who are led to vigorous spiritual growth, as well as many social activities. They regularly attend are youth activities, Central Florida Bible Camp, SonQuest, and the Spiritual Growth Workshop.

Our growing Youth Group needs sponsors for trips, hosts for youth activities, and interested members to be role models.
